Box of Broadcasts [BoB]

BoB National is an off-air recording and media archive service. It is available to BUFVC members holding an ERA+ licence which includes the University of Exeter. This scheduling service allows University staff and students to record programmes which will be broadcast over the next seven days as well as retrieving programmes from the last seven days of recorded channels.

The requestor will receive the programme after broadcast as an FLV file they can watch in a web page – in the same way as iplayer. BoB stores the recorded TV and Radio programmes in the archive and holds them indefinitely for all users to enjoy. The archive currently offers tens of thousands of TV and radio programmes covering all genres and that number is set to rise as more and more universities join BoB.

With BoB you can record programmes, watch programmes from the archive, create clips, search for programmes coming up in the next seven days by title or keyword, compile your favourite shows into playlists and share with others (including embedding links to broadcasts or clips within their VLE).

There is a BoB User Guide or you can access their help pages here.
