Our aim is to promote and develop the use of E-Learning across the University to enhance the student experience. We strive to ensure that Exeter’s E-Learning facilities are able to reflect the excellence of the teaching, learning and research expected of a world-class university.

At the heart of E-Learning at Exeter is our virtual learning environment ELE (Exeter Learning Environment), which provides a set of flexible online tools designed specifically to support online learning.

To achieve our aims we:

  • support the use of E-Learning across the institution
  • develop E-learning resources which demonstrate good practice, and advise on the development of E-learning resources;
  • work closely with Colleges to help enhance the online curriculum and student experience;
  • explore and embed new technologies to support learning and teaching.

“E-Learning is no longer a specialist area - anyone can now easily provide their students with online teaching and learning resources 24 hours a day.”

Matt Newcombe, Head of E-Learning Development
