Each academic award has a total credit value. The total credit value includes a minimum amount of credit that is required at the academic level of the award and the maximum amount of credit permissible at the lowest academic level.
The University’s Credit and Qualifications Framework summarises the amount and level of credit required to receive a University award; details for each award are outlined in the CQF Annex A: University of Exeter Higher Education Awards 2022-23.
The amount and level of credit specified in the tables in CQF Annex A: University of Exeter Higher Education Awards 2022-23 should be regarded as the minimum. If a Faculty wishes to diverge from these amounts, they must seek University level approval, through the Dean for Taught Students or the Dean of Postgraduate Research, as appropriate.
The tables in Annex A should be read in conjunction with the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications of UK Awarding Bodies. The University’s Credit and Qualifications Framework will apply in cases where the credit requirement at the University is higher than that stated in the national credit framework.
