Academic Development

Academic Development are able to offer advice and development opportunities with regard to the enhancement and accreditation of education practice for colleagues working within Exeter’s research-led context. We create spaces for the sharing of good practice in education by working with, and signposting to, colleagues from across the institution who can help enhance education practice at Exeter. We coordinate and contribute to projects associated with various aspects of education practice, and we endeavour to maintain an open dialogue with College leadership in order to focus this resource.

We collect and respond to stakeholder feedback in all areas of work, and we work strategically to support priority areas as articulated through NSS action plans and Teaching Excellence Monitoring (TEM) meetings. The Academic Developers engage in education scholarship to maintain this excellent standard; our ambition is to engage further with research and horizon-scanning across the sector in order to anticipate changes in pedagogies and the higher education landscape more broadly, which will impact upon the education practice of academics and the learning experience of our students.

National Teaching Fellowship
