Personal Development Planning (PDP)
Benefits for academics
PDP can help academics:
- by helping students to be more independent and autonomous as learners
- to improve the quality of experience for tutors and tutees when it is linked to personal tutoring systems
- to make more effective use of off-campus opportunities for learning such as work-placements or study abroad
- by creating a mechanism through which career-related skills and capabilities can be recorded
The ePDP resource enables students to print off and/or share online their PDP records with their tutor. These can be useful not only to provide a focus for personal tutorials but also to draw upon in writing employment references long after the student has left University.
