Funding your support

Most UK students with a disability will be able to apply for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). Information about eligibility and application are available on Direct.gov’s Disabled Students’ Allowance pages.

Some of the support we offer requires funding. If you are not eligible for DSA, please make an appointment to discuss funding and support with a DRC adviser.

If you are not a British citizen, some non-UK governments may provide financial backing similar to the DSA, which might be used to fund any support. You will need to investigate this before you come to Exeter.

Personal care support, help with day-to-day living and local mobility training cannot be funded through the Disabled Students’ Allowance. Your local Social Services (or equivalent) may be able to help with providing these; it is best to contact them as soon as you have made your final choice of University, if not before. You will need to arrange your personal care support before you come to University.
