Award and Graduation
Once a student has been recommended for award and submitted their final thesis to Open Research Exeter (ORE), the final stage in the award process is the formal approval by the Vice Chancellor’s Executive Group (VCEG).
If a student has registered for a Summer Graduation Ceremony in July 2013 their Examiners' Report, minor or major corrections approval and final thesis must have been submitted no later than Wednesday 19th June 2013 in order for them to attend.
VCEG Award Lists for Research Students are prepared by the Postgraduate Administration Office and signed by the Vice Chancellor every Monday throughout the year. Where the Monday is a Bank Holiday this will be done on the Tuesday. No VCEG will be held during the University Closure period at Christmas.
VCEG Award Lists for Taught Postgraduate Programmes are prepared by the Faculty Office and signed by the Vice Chancellor regularly during term-time. Please contact Alyson Hird in the Faculty Support and Policy Development Office should you have any queries.
Following their award, students can then choose whether to receive the degree certificate at a Graduation Ceremony or in absentia.
For information about our Graduation Ceremonies please visit the Graduation website.
