Examiners' fees
External Examiners for Taught Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes receive a basic annual fee of £150. Colleges then allocate an additional amount to External Examiners based on the workload each has undertaken. If you have any queries about your fee you should contact your College representative in the first instance.
Please note that the University reviews its fee schedule for external examiners annually and that future amendments may be expected. It is University policy not to pay fees until the completed annual report has been received by Quality Review.
Please ensure that Quality Review are kept updated regarding changes to bank account and contact details by emailing qrs@exeter.ac.uk. This is particularly important to ensure prompt payment of fees.
Expense claims should be made on an expenses claim form and sent to the College, Department or partner institution concerned.
