Assessment and feedback

The University recognises that effective, rigorous, flexible and innovative assessment and feedback mechanisms are a fundamental part of the delivery of high quality education.

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education outlines the importance of assessment for learning on the following web page: QAA on Assessment and Feedback.

In June 2007 a central University Assessment and Feedback Strategy was approved to guide our approach to assessment and feedback:

Each College is also required to have an Assessment and Feedback Strategy which addresses the demands of individual Colleges and disciplines

Education Enhancement offers guidance on the underlying principles and practices of assessment and feedback and promote the sharing of Exeter-based resources, including Case Studies of Practice submitted by academic colleagues across the Institution.

Further guidance on assessment and feedback can also be found in the TQA Manual in particular the Generic Mark Scheme may be useful.
