The Researcher Development Team offers a range of opportunities for postgraduate researchers and early career research only staff to participate in competitions and initiatives that have been designed specifically for them.
We believe that much of your professional development is enhanced by interacting with your peers and other researchers as well as through opportunties to showcase your research. Our competitions and initiatives are designed to specifically help peer-to-peer interations with other researchers and those outside of research. Postgraduate Research Showcase
The postgraduate research showcase is an annual poster competition that offers postgraduate researchers the chance to demonstrate the value of their research. 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®)
3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a National competition for postgraduate research students, run by research organisation Vitae. 3MT® challenges doctoral candidates to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes. Researcher Development are holding an internal 3MT® competition to select a postgraduate researcher to represent the University of Exeter in the National Semi-Finals. Images of Research - Early Career Research Staff Only
The Images of Research competition aims to provide early career research staff with an opportunity to highlight the wide range of research that they are conducting at the university, using images to look at that research in a new and exciting way. The competition is jointly organised and supported by Researcher Development, the Library, Research Services and the Catalyst Public Engagement Project. SETsquared iCURe programme - Early Career Research Staff
The SETsquared iCURe programme offers the chance for early career research staff to build their entrepreneurial skills, providing up to £50,000 to support commerically based research. More information can be found by following this link.
Researcher to Innovator Programme
An enterprise and innovation course for early stage researchers.
