SCONUL Access Scheme

You're a member of University of Exeter Library and want to use another UK library, you'll need to apply online

The SCONUL Access Scheme supports students and academic staff in their learning, teaching and research by allowing access to participating libraries.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Academic & Support Staff
  • Full time and Part time PhD student
  • Full time and Part time Undergraduate
  • Full Time and Part time Postgraduate
  • Placement Student

Please note: Students registered on non accredited online courses via the Continuing Education Short Courses scheme are not entitled to apply for SCONUL Access.

Apply online via SCONUL Access

  1. Wait to receive SCONUL Access reply email
  2. Follow instructions in the email
  3. Read the SCONUL Access User Guide
  4. Check with host institution before visiting, if you have queries

You're a member of another UK library and want to use University of Exeter Library, you'll need to contact us in advance of visiting

To access University of Exeter Libraries under the SCONUL access scheme:

  1. Apply to SCONUL Access scheme online
  2. Wait to receive your SCONUL Access Approved email
  3. Forward the SCONUL Access Approved email to   
  4. We will contact you with joining information
