Support on Campus

International Student Office

The International Student Exchange and Support Office can help with some of the practical aspects of life in the UK, including advice on extending your UK visa, working during your studies, bringing your family to the UK, schooling for your children, driving in the UK and shipping companies to take your belongings back home at the end of your studies. You can find the office in Northcote House.

INTO

INTO University of Exeter is based in the INTO building and offers a variety of courses for students and teachers of English. Many of these are taken before your degree starts, but there are also workshops and classes run throughout the year, designed to support you during your studies.

IT Services

IT Services provide your university email account, printing services, laptop clinics and computer clusters. Their web pages give more details of other available services.

Student Skills Development Service

The Student Skills Development Service is available on all our campuses. Skills workshops are held throughout the year - some may be organised by your School. Topics covered include managing your time; presentations; exam techniques and how to write essays. The libraries also stock a selection of study skills books.

Counselling Service & Voice

The University offers a free confidential Counselling Service based at Reed Hall. You can talk to their staff about any personal difficulties you may have. The Student’s Guild runs the Voice service (formerlycalled Nightline), which is operated by students from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. every day in term time to anyone who needs information or someone to talk to.

Disability Support from AccessAbility

For students and staff with accessibility issues, the University provides the Disability support, at all campuses. They can offer all kinds of extra facilities that may help you in your studies, including for example, mentors and notetakers. They also offer support for dyslexia. The Library has its own information on services for users with disabilities, as well as a network of staff in each branch who can offer support.
