Institutional Repository
Open Research Exeter (ORE), Exeter's institutional repository, offers a location to deposit and disseminate your research publications on open access. You can deposit articles, book chapters, conference papers, working papers etc. These publications are then available online to other researchers and will be found more easily by specialised search tools e.g. OAIster, or standard search engines e.g. Google Scholar. From April 2013, PGR students funded by RCUK should make their research papers available on open access, and this will apply to all PGR students from October 2013. For further information see the open access guide for PGRs.
If you are a research postgraduate, you will also be asked to submit your completed PhD or MPhil thesis into ORE. You can find more information and access the repository on the ORE webpages. Further information on E-theses is also available.
If you are producing a multimedia research project, or creating images or video as part of your research, you can also deposit this into ORE. If this is of interest to you, do have a look at the De-placing Future Memory research project as an example.
Research data can also be deposited in ORE, and from October 2013 PGR students will be asked to register and deposit the research data that supports their thesis into ORE when ethically, legally and commercially appropriate. For further information, see the research data management pages or contact rdm@exeter.ac.uk.
