Study Space
There are many areas designated especially for student study in the various libraries. These vary, with space for group work and silent study.
The Main Library has individual study carrels which may be used on a first come, first served daily basis. You will need to be registered with the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) and be considered as appropriate for this resource. Ask at the DRC or the library loans desk for more information.
Equipment
The DRC runs a special facilities IT zone which is situated at the rear of the Main Library. The room includes:
PCs with a variety of useful software such as :
Speech recognition software – Dragon Naturally Speaking, Freespeech and Texthelp
Mind mapping software – Inspiration Pro
Screen Reading software – Jaws 4
Scanner and printer
To use the room you must first register with the DRC, you will then be able to use your University card to enter the lab with swipe card access.
