The Law Library is located within the Amory Building on the Streatham campus and is an official European Documentation Centre.

To help you find your way around the library, please take a look at our Floor Plans .

Its collections are housed over two floors. Periodicals and the European Documentation Collection (EDC) are shelved on the ground floor together with the Temporary Reserve Collection of textbooks, which is situated behind the issue desk, and the Reference collection.

Textbooks and pamphlets are shelved on the first floor, together with statutes and law reports. They are arranged on the shelves by the Moys classification scheme. Pamphlets are shelved in boxes in a separate sequence after the textbooks. The majority of the material in the Law Library is for reference use only, although much of the content is now available online; only textbooks and pamphlets may be borrowed.

Only the current editions of legal textbooks are kept in the Law Library and these will often be shelved in the Temporary Reserve Collection. Earlier editions are kept in the Old Library (Research Commons) where they may be borrowed from the Old Law Editions section in the rolling stack on Level 0.

Periodicals and law reports in the Law Library are not classified, although on the catalogue entry they have the classmark K 1.

The Law Library is open on week days and weekends but times vary during the year, so please check the current opening hours for up to date information. At the weekend, access to the Amory Building is controlled by a University Swipe Lock and is restricted to registered members of the University who must swipe their valid UniCard to gain entrance.

Visitors from outside the University are welcome to visit the library during week day hours throughout the year. No access for visitors is possible during weekend opening.
