A £5m investment in the University IT network has brought with it state of the art VoIP telephony to students and staff

Telephony

The Telecommunications Office is part of the Academic Services Network Team. It provides a variety of telephony and voice communication services to schools and departments within the University.

As part of the Network Upgrade Project all analogue phones (except faxes and emergency lines) are being replaced with Nortel VoIP phones. The Nortel VoIP system provides a host benefits and features to the University over and above the older Analogue system.  Some of these are described in the Using your phone section.
