We're investing £5m into our University network, providing a world-class IT infrastructure

The University network

The University of Exeter’s Information and Computing Systems Division runs a professional, high speed network service connecting the Streatham, St Lukes and the Cornwall campuses to JANET (the 'Joint Academic Network'), and the wider internet.

Currently approximately 10,000 devices are attached to the data network including IP phones, CCTV service, building management devices, access control units, as well as all computers, printers and servers.

This also includes the University’s residential network, 'ResNet', which supplies a high speed data connection and "Freewire Triple Play" service to almost every study bedroom.

Currently the University of Exeter is undergoing a major upgrade to the network in order to support up to date services and provide greater resilience
