Out of Hours IT Support at the University of Exeter
Support is operated through a day service and an Out of Hours Service, ensuring 24/7 cover for all IT queries, including all normal UK Bank Holidays and University closure days.
Our Out of Hours Service provides phone and email support and is a joint operation between the University of Exeter and Northumbria University (NorMAN).
You can contact the Out of Hours Service by calling our existing IT Help Desk phone number, 01392 723 934 from any phone (charged at standard network rate), or by using the freephones from the following locations:
- Streatham: Main Library, Entrance next to the lift
- Streatham: Main Library, PC Cluster one
- Streatham: Main Library, Ground Floor behind the Library Help Point
- St Lukes: Haighton Library, Main PC Cluster

The team's providing our day service and our Out of Hours Service work closely and have built up an extensive Knowledge Base of frequently asked questions specific to the University of Exeter. The Out of Hours Service is also notified of any ongoing issues throughout the day.
They can help with:
- Password resets and general IT account queries
- Advice on accessing MyExeter
- Email advice
- ResNet and Wireless connection issues
- Printing advice
- General IT advice and troubleshooting
- General queries and guidance
In the event that your fault cannot be resolved by our Out of Hours Service, your query will be passed back to the University of Exeter IT Help Desk at 09:30 the next working day to be followed up as soon as possible.
