Audience Response (clickers)
In specific teaching rooms on the Exeter campuses there is an Audience Response system installed called TurningPoint. This audience response system allows your audience members to use wireless voting handsets to respond to questions and polls you insert into your Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

In these specific teaching rooms, the software required to run the Audience Response system is installed on the Lectern PC. A reciever is also installed fixed to a channel assigned to this room. This channel is advertised in the room and in the table below.
Please Note: Learning Spaces Support do not loan out voting handsets, these will need to be purchased by individual colleges and departments. Please see below for information on purchasing handsets.
Learning Spaces Support can provide you with basic technical support on the use of the Audience Response system in these rooms. To request support for a session please contact the IT Help Desk.
For more information and training on the use of Audience Response clickers for teaching, please contact the Education Enhancement team in Academic Services.

- Double click the 'TurningPoint' shortcut on the desktop of the PC
- Microsoft PowerPoint will then open with the TurningPoint software loaded
- Open your PowerPoint presentation by clicking the Office logo in the top left of the window, and click Open.
If you will be using TurningPoint in these rooms regularly, you can set it so that it is automatically loaded when you open Microsoft PowerPoint. To do this please follow the following steps once you have loaded it the first time in a teaching room:
- Select the TurningPoint toolbar at the top of the screen
- Click the 'Tools' menu dropdown, and then select 'Settings' from the menu
- In the window that opens, ensure 'Presentation' is selected on the left hand side
- On the right hand side, ensure the property 'Add-In Always Loaded' is set to 'True'
- Click 'Done' at the bottom of the window to close

How to purchase Voting Handsets
If your college or department would like to purchase a stock of voting handsets to use with your audience, you can purchase these from an SUPC (Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium) approved AV supplier:
Please Note: When purchasing voting handsets to use in centrally supported teaching rooms, you must purchase the RF version of the TurningPoint handset (such as the ResponseCard RF) for it to be compatable.
If you have any further questions on the purchase of voting handsets please contact us via the IT Help Desk.
