Seminars and workshops

We can set up items from our Special Collections for your seminars, we can also help deliver teaching sessions on access to information about archives rare books and film material. A member of staff will be available on duty for all sessions involving rare, unique, or fragile material to help supervise handling.

Our collections are also often used for undergraduate dissertations and essays.

How to book

For teaching and research involving the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, please go direct to the museum website.

The Old Library Seminar Room C can be booked directly with us by University members for teaching and research activities using our archive, rare book and film materials.

Subject to bookings the room is available Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, except during University closure and exam periods. Access outside these hours may be possible by advance arrangement, depending on staff availability.  

Please contact us by email at bdc@exeter.ac.uk if you wish to book the Seminar Room for teaching using Bill Douglas Cinema Museum materials, letting us know the date and times you require the room, your list of materials and the input required from staff.
